Operation of a Target Computer
The following animation demonstrates the operation of the Basic Computer part of the Extended Computer Model.
In this particular demo, the computer executes six
instructions in sequence: IncB, IncB, IncB, MovBA, IncB, MovAB.
This sample program is stored in RAM (via the dip switches) starting at address 0000. The four timing signals
at the top-right corner constitute an instruction cycle (each cycle executes one instruction).
Note that the main board contains the CPU and the RAM and represents the Basic Computer.
The extension board to the right facilitates input interrupt handling and the whole diagram represents the
Extended Computer Model built via the Extended Computer Kit.
